Not a list of tricks. But a funny little read with a great ending. And a poll at the bottom of the short article. Of course I voted...

Spoiler
No, and I would not put up with that

Wow, that gave me an idea! But I still won't put up with that. I will be more alert now.

My uncle's girlfriend did this one time when we went out to dinner. She wasn't nice to the waitress from the time we sat down (for the 3rd time) so....

My friend or family member did it and I was mortified, but ate with them again.

A bazillion years ago, when I was in my early 20s, I worked briefly in a shopping mall. I went to dinner with several young co-workers one evening. We went to York Steak House in the mall. The restaurant guaranteed its food, and a couple of people in our group told me that they routinely complain about their food so that they get their meal free. They did that in my presence, and I was appalled. To me, that was the same as shoplifting. I never went out with them again.

I would make an excuse to lag behind while the others in my group walked out, then give a heartfelt apology to the server, then pay for the meal(s) that subsequently went uncharged, and then........THEN...tell my so-called "friends" to go F*** themselves and leave them flat, forever.
Sorry to be so dramatic, folks, but that's how I feel!

The "girl" in question was 18 so not sure why this is in the Parenting forum. It's horrible behavior by an adult who should have known better, regardless of who taught her this. No different than shoplifting IMO.
