I'm having a hard time finding a good foreclosure deal. No matter what I do, it seems like either the auction is too close, or someone else is already working with the homeowner.
Try looking at houses that are already foreclosed upon and are bank-owned. That way, there are no homeowners that you need to work with and no potential redemption periods to contend with. Buying a house on the court-house steps (if that's the type of auction you're talking about) can be especially risky. It's not for a novice.
