Well we went back to the bank with our new offer, $20K less than the original offer, and after 2 weeks the bank got back to us. They accepted our offer!!!! No questions asked. We didn't have to provide any documentation as to why we reduced our offer (although we had it if asked). So, we closed yesterday and today we have a new home! It was a huge pain, and a very long process, but in the end we got a great deal and a beautiful new home. Our realtor was very skeptical and told us she has never heard of this happening before, but we did it! It can be done. My advice to anyone in a similar situation is to not get your emotions involved, stick to a bottom line and be ready to walk if you aren't happy with the deal. Now comes to move.

Thanks for the follow up! In so many threads I read about people who have a problem and I never get to learn how it ultimately turned out! I'm glad yours was a happy ending! Congrats!
