My family is relocating to the Loveland area in August for a job promotion for my husband. We have 2 children with our 3rd due in July. I am having a hard time finding many rentals in our price range of around $1200 for at least 3 bedrooms. We would really prefer a single family home but would be willing to live in an apartment for a little while. Husband doesn't mind traveling up to 20-30 miles for work but everything is looking way out of our price range. Can anyone help?

That would be great to rent for only $1200 a month. We live in Fort Collins and have to pay over $1600. I would think Loveland would be more reasonable, but I also know that homes (rent or purchase) are hard to come by. Rentals and purchases involve paying more than other areas of the country, and with purchases, settling for compromises that are in the seller's favor (this is a sellers market!) It's one of the big drawbacks to this area. We wouldn't have moved here if I had realized all that was on the horizon. I mean, northern Colorado is good, but maybe not that special.

Best wishes though, and good luck! I'm sure things will work out for you.

The job situation will prevent much more growth. There are not enough jobs being produced to meet the growth/demand. The news will eventually get out, and that will get people's attention.

I am starting to doubt that, the job situation in the Fort Collins area has sucked for a long time, but people still move here. I know many people who have been struggling to find a decent job in Fort Collins for at least 5 years.

I think the 2 things that will eventually slow down or stop the growth of Fort Collins are going to be rising interest rates and rising gas prices, there are too many people living on the edge barely scraping by with 1 spouse having a decent job and the having negligible income, and without a change in the job situation that is going to be a big problem.

Agreed. That's a good description of the situation
