At just two days a week, I don't think that sounds that bad. I'd try it out - you can always change your mind later.

Honestly if you're only doing it two days a week that's not terrible at all. Personally I don't mind driving so it would be no big deal for me, especially since it's all highway pretty much. Does that mean you'd get to work from home the other 3 days of the week? Honestly that doesn't sound bad at all, and you'll get some excellent benefits out of it if you stick it out.

Get some audiobooks or podcasts going and knock out that drive. That's entirely doable 2 days per week. I had a very similar commute for years and didn't mind it at all. If there's any flexibility on the days you go into the office, I'd recommend knocking out your two days every week ASAP when the roads are good, then you don't have to worry about it the rest of the week.

Just make sure that living within the state of Wyoming isn't a requirement of the state job.

Rent a room locally in someone’s house until your lease is up. Then move to the town you are working in.
