My fiancée and myself are looking to purchase a home, can be a townhome or single family in Broward County. She works in Boca and I downtown Ft. Lauderdale so unfortunately areas like Davie and Cooper City are too far out for us.

We are looking for 3 bedroom in a safe, quiet, suburban area with access to I-95, food shopping, et al; we do not have kids yet but will in the future. Our price range is $180,000 and down.

Can anyone offer suggestions as to areas where we can find townhomes/condos in a good neighborhood yet reasonably priced? I've heard that the Township in Coconut Creek is a good area to search, are there any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help

3 BR under $180K in a safe area? Easy access to I-95 usually excludes safe.

Maybe something in Coconut Creek.

we've been looking at multiple real estate websites, but were not sure in what geographic area, besides Coconut Creek, we should look at. We've also been exploring Boca Raton and Delray Beach areas as well to see if we could find a place in Palm Beach County.

You're right on the money! Coconut Creek is your best choice in Broward county for your budget if you need to stay close to I-95. Boca Raton and Delray Beach are both located in Palm Beach County and they are your best choices as well. I wouldn't personally go beyond Delray Beach, so if I were you, I would pick one of the three cities and forget about trying to find another place cuz there isn't really a better one.

We've been looking at some places in Coral Springs as well, but we're not that familiar with that area. It's close to the Turnpike which could work for us and we've seen some nice places on the websites. Is that a pretty good area or should we stay away from it?

If you're also considering Coral Spring due to its proximity to the Turnpike, then that's a good choice as well. Coral Spring is a safe and family-oriented city, but always try to stay north of Wiles RD - it's newer, crime is lower and more diverse IMO.
