Residents and businesses that get water from the city of Fort Lauderdale should be prepared to be without that service for the next 24 to 36 hours, city officials said Thursday morning.

Get ready, a favorite poster in this section will be on FULL RANT!

Luckily if you just wait until high tide, you can bath in the street!

I do feel bad for the restaurants/hotels that have to turn people away if the water actually shuts off.

They announced it so time to prepare and stock up on bottled water, 5 gallon jugs to flush your toilet, plenty of clean wipes. Hopefully you will survive the 36 hour issue

Totally FPL’s fault.
They contracted job, they’re responsible.

The subcontractor that did it has been in business for 4 months.......safe to say he is "out of business" now.

I read the Galleria Mall didn't open (no water = no bathrooms, no fire hydrants). It was noted the Rolls Royce dealer was also closed......and here I thought those people only drank Perrier!

The lawyers have to be trying to get some type of class action suit going for "lost business"

Can't make snowcones without water!

water is back on - boil water notice in place. No biggie -- now you can flush your toilet

as I was reading: Gov. Ron DeSantis spoke to Trantalis and Broward Mayor Mark Bogen on Thursday morning and offered assistance. The state sent thousands of gallons of water bottles in semi-trucks with Florida Highway Patrol escorts.

really? They don't do that when we have hurricanes!

My water never stopped flowing that I am aware of and I work from home.

The boil water alert from 11am on worries me though. I filled a Brita pitcher around noon and while I wont drink the water, I worry if I need to throw out the filter

Surprised they say to boil water , even to wash dishes. Is that paranoid? Or a warning to take seriously? Bacteria will live on dry dishes? Even in the dishwasher?
