It’s great as long as you’re not right off the main roads. Get as Far East as you can and it’s wonderful.

I think it is old and congested in East LHP. West of US1 the neighborhood can be rough (Pompano)

I wouldn't want to retire there

I used to live in Pompano Beach in a condo on Federal Hwy south of Atlantic Blvd but haven't been back for 10 years so do not know if the neighborhood has changed. It used to be very nice. I'm also thinking of the Imperial Point area in Ft Lauderdale. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I used to live in a condo on Federal Highway, east of Atlantic Blvd, in Pompano Beach, FL about 10 years ago before I moved out of state and it was very nice then but haven't been back since. Now I am moving back to Florida and looking for areas in Broward County. Also looking into the Imperial Point area in Ft Lauderdale.

Imperial Point and Lighthouse Point are great areas. East Pompano is a fine place to retire, just don't venture west of Dixie highway or I-95, as it does get a little rough.
