Well, I would just like to remind you both that NY was voted to have the most attractive people here. Let's not forget that.

Eyesys, I'm not sure, but I will say that everything seems to be far in SFL, but it only takes like 15 min to go 20 miles. It is weird. I'm from NYC and 3 miles seems long to me, but 5 miles here and 15 miles there seem to be equal.

I think there is going to be good and bad about any place that you ask sweetie - both areas tend to have great weather, but does houston have beaches like Florida? Not sure about that. I really don't think that most of the problems that people are speaking of are going to touch you.

As a singel WF, I visited Tivoli & wasn't that impressed with the community. No manned gate, just off 95 in a not so secure area for me. Depends on where you're going to Grad School - if it's Nova, stay in Davie near the school - some places there may take pets, & in Sunrise, near Sawgrass Mills Mall (best shopping & more there, concerts, movies, eats) & Plantation take pets too. The school should be able to help refer off-campus housing too. Could try by the beach - Victoria Park, Coral Ridge, Wilton Manors, Sunrise Blvd near Galleria Mall - lots of dog lovers here. For the Beach - stay East of US 1 for safety. Best of Luck.

Stephanie- Where are you going to school? UM or FIU? If so, I would NOT recommend living anywhere outside of Miami-Dade County. You will regret it. If you are going to school at NOVA or FAU, or another school located in Broward County then you'll be fine.

Eyes-
How long does it take to get from Trivoli Park to downtown Miami?- Under non-rush hour conditions about 45 minutes. However, between the hours of 7A.M.-9:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. the I-95 corridor is all jammed up, particularly in the Miami-Dade segment. From the Golden Glades south to downtown it is a mess during those times. If you've never driven it, don't; its not even worth attempting. Also, the drivers are a nightmare to deal with down in Miami. They don't use turn signals and they cut you off. Beware of the hit-and-run.
