My family and I were in So FL this past week both on vacation and looking around. We had considered Parkland and Coral Springs and went to see those areas last time we were there, but Weston blew us away! We're moving to Weston!

For all of you considering Weston, it gets our

Cant wait to visit, my only issue with weston is it is higher than other places to live, so my friends tell who have lived there for the past 10 yrs....thier friends live in Boca and Coral Springs and their elec bill, and property taxes and cost of food are less than weston...I am going to do a comparision, on Cost to see the difference...

we cant wait for our trip 3 weeks and 4 days

I agree , we lived in Weston for almost five years and we loved it ... yes it is a safe , clean lovely place with nice parks and manicured common areas . I would put Weston and Parkland in a virtual tie as far as aesthetics ... surprisingly though I have read other posts on this forum where some people comment on how much they dislike Weston as phony , creepy and to "sanitized " whatever that means

I am glad that you liked Weston. I felt the same way about a year ago.

Do you know that one developer planned and built everything in Weston? I have to say they did a great job.

Can anyone from NYC that now lives in Weston describe it to any place in Queens? I had a friend who lives in Miami describe Weston as kind of like Forest Hills. Would this assessment be right?

I don't see where she is getting the comparison with Forest Hills. FH has apartment buildings - many of them very old with a few highly priced single family homes, public transit, shops and restaurants you can walk to - many still mom and pop types, etc., with working class residents as well as yuppie types. Weston is an upscale suburb with new tract single family homes with high taxes and insurance costs that you need your car for to go anywhere. Most of the mall-type stores are a 20 minute drive south or north. They go for a small town atmosphere wth fireworks on July 4 and pretty Christman lights. I can't think of 2 more different places actually.

Perhaps try picturing an upscale Levittown built within the last 10 years and you have Weston.

Have you ever seen Showtime's Weeds? That is also a Weston-type community.

Some communities have em, some don't. There are sidewalks on the main roads outside the individual subdivisions. In the summer months, you don't see anyone using them though.
