It is a nice place to visit, camping, boat ramp, walking paths. low prices. But is was a wacky cult just like the others that tried and failed. The leader DR Cyrus Teed, who later changed his name to Koresh, wanted everyone to basically give him all their worldly goods and follow his rules, he promised they would be forever taken care of. Just like the wacko Mr Jeffers who just was given the guilty sentence. BUT SINCE THE LAND WAS GIVEN TO LEE COUNTY, it was all good.
