I was wondering if anyone could give me their thoughts/ opinion on Magnolia Landing ? It seems as if they have some higher fees ( HOA, CDD, taxes, etc). The only threads I have seen were back in 2009, and it sounded as if this community was out in the middle of nowhere in a somewhat sketchy part of N. Ft. Meyers. Have things improved and has there been anymore development in that area ? Please share the good, the bad and the ugly with me. My husband is retiring and and we are making the move to the gulf coast of Florida. We have looked at North Port and the surrounding areas like PGI and PC, Venice and the Ft. Myers area. We don't want to make a mistake ! Magnolia Landing is in our price range, we can have a pool, AND a fenced in yard for our two dogs. It is gated and seems to be early retiree friendly.
Thank you so much in advance for your answers

Magnolia Landing is very nice and the golf course is excellent. I cannot help you on the fees and taxes but that is not a "sketchy" area. It's just rural. It's north of North Fort Myers but "middle of no where" is a relative term. If you expect everything with in walking distance or a 5 min drive then it is in the middle of no where. There is a publix plaza within a 5 minute drive though and Movies, resturants, ect... within 15 mins
Hope that helps. Good luck.

Hi MikeP and thank you for your input. It is really appreciated. Well, I guess I should have been more clear in what I meant my "in the middle of nowhere". I was wondering if this was a development that was built far away from Ft. Myers, meaning that in order to go up to Target , Publix, etc.., you would have to drive 25 minutes or so, as opposed to just hoping in the car and it taking maybe 10 minutes to get into town. Thanks again for the reply

I'm guessing the Cape Coral Target is 15 mins or so maybe 20 if there's traffic. NFM walmart is a little closer than that.
I'd live in Magnolia. Good luck

I don't know what the fees are like, but it is an awesome golf course. I wouldn't say it's In a sketchy area at all. I live close by and haven't locked my doors except for going on vacations, in a decade.
