I have a 11 year old dog that has a variety of issues for a Senior dog, low thyroid and most importantly Upper Respiratory Infections due to a fistula in her mouth due to a prior surgery for cancer. My current vet is not setup for this type of advanced/critical care. Looking for recommendations for a vet that has in house lab testing, xrays and is current on the most recent testing technology. Seeking a general practicioner who has experience in dermatology, immunology, senior care, infectious diseases. I know that is a tall order but there has to be a well respected vet that can handle all the issues that a senior dog presents.

PLEASE HELP!!!. I feel there is so much more I could be doing and I just don't know who to trust or who has the experience with senior dogs in Ft Myers/Cape Coral.

Thank you in advance for any recommendations

I'm sorry that no one has answered your question. i'm too new to the area to help you with this one. But, have you asked your vet these questions? Or maybe make a few calls to some other vets in the area and pick their brains.

I hope you can find what you are looking for.

Viscaya Prado Vet Hospital, Cape Coral, FLORIDA | GENERAL INFORMATION | U.S.

I have been going to them for years. They are great and they don't try to give you things that you pet doesn't need.

They have 2 offices in Cape Coral.

I second this. Dr. Monte is terrific!

We have been using Bayshore Animal Hospital (Dr. Lisa Newman) for 4 years now and we believe she gave us 2 years we wouldn't have had with one of our cats who recently died at 12 y.o. I don't know if she meets all of your criteria, but I'd urge you to give her a try. I know she does have xray equipment and is very caring and knowledgeable. She managed to find gallstones in the cat I'd mentioned and coordinates with other vets such as one who has a portable ultrasound; that's how they diagnosed her.
