I thought to run this question to you knowledgeable forum members before I further investigate this matter. We currently own a corner lot in the NW Cape. I am contemplating contacting the owner of the vacant lot next door to see if they are interested in selling. Now, if we do purchase this property and combine it with our lot do we still pay the same UEP fees, etc., as though they are two separate lots or one? I realize they go by road frontage, but I was wondering if it was cheaper (fee wise) if the lots were combined. We won't be hooking up just want this lot for more space. Thanks.

It has never been cheaper for me when I have done. It was a little cheaper for them as they only send out one notice instead of two at tax time. I think because you could always separate them later to sell they don't give you any deal. I would think twice before buying any lot in the cape with the sewer and water fees coming down the road on your taxes. That lot would have to be really cheap to me. Unless one of the lots is on the water. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking on the same lines as you. No, it is not a waterfront lot and I agree on the point about separating the lot at a later date. I should look on to the UEP site to see if there is a bottom line dollar figure for vacant lots if you don't hook up.
