Don't kill the messenger....just passing along what I was told.
That is what I suspected. It must be a regional thing with certain carriers because as I said none of the ranges in other states I've seen this. The indoor range near me here in Port Charlotte doesn't mind people using reloads.

When I lived in Missouri and joined the new indoor range by my house I asked them if reloads were forbidden and they gave me a strange look and said they don't mind reloaded ammo. Only restriction was that steel core and surplus ammo and tracer rounds because of the metal backstop. If caught with the steel core ammo it's ejection from the range. Up there with so many ranges and many people able to shoot on their own land if the area ranges had that real they'd have a lot of people telling them to pound sand because A LOT of people up there reload.

Personally I've had more problems with factory ammo defective than I have had with my reloads. Especially CCI Blazer with bullets seated way too deep in the casing. Winchester White Box I've found defective rounds a number of times such as cracked casings, flipped primers, and inconsistent charges. I've had times where I thought I've had rounds way overcharged.

I don't reload down here but when I did I watched each round thru the whole process on my Dillion. If I had any question if the round I did was bad I'd throw it to the side and pull the bullet later. I also visually inspect each round I shoot.
