Sold our Bonita condo and moved back to midwest. Big mistake!!!

Going back. This time around considering renting for awhile. Have kitty and med. Goldendoodle.

Recommendations for Bonita, Estero, or Fort Myers. Baby boomers. Quiet. Professionals.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'd recommend none of the above.

Look at North Florida or North Central if you want "quiet"

SW FL is rapidly becoming Miami, Lauderdale, Tampa. Choked with traffic, road rage, and crime.

I left two years ago, but still spend on average 10 days out of a month in SW FL working. I can't wait to get out of that hell hole as soon as I get there.

You used to live there, now you want to move back, but you don't know where?

And we can’t wait for you to get out as soon as possible too!

Hahahaha! OMG this is hilarious!

I spend a lot of time working in Naples to Tampa and lived in Sarasota for 18 months.

Completely different demographic.

Greater Fort Myers Population: 77,000
Greater Cape Coral Population: 175,300
Greater Naples and Bonita Springs Population: 60,000

Greater Miami Metro (which is where the census has us): 6.1 million people.

Road rage in Naples? Here in South Florida road rage will get you shot and killed. FHP is told NOT to pull over speeding cars on I95 because it is too dangerous for them. When an accident happens on I95 they will completely shut down I95 to all traffic because it was too dangerous.

We had a sniper sit on one of the overpasses a couple of years ago picking off drivers.

SWF is nothing like South Florida.

I live in Gateway Greens but there are lots of condo's and apartment rentals in communities the length of Gateway Blvd. This is a safe, convenient and beautiful area....with a wide range of prices....good luck. also the areas between Colonial and Daniels.

Thanks for responses. Can you recommend a specific apartment complex or condo? We would like our neighbors to be around baby boomer age. Profesdionals...i see nice looking places online. But am afraid they are geared for the thirty somethings. I.e Spectra. Of course trying to figure this out from distance is difficult. The leasing agents won't discuss demographics. We aren't stick in the mud people. i just don't want to hear blaring music and loud cars...

Royal Greens in Gateway are condos that are rented by owner's or leasing companies. They used to be apartments so the insulation is not as good as it should be. I was on the 2nd floor but if you don't mind walking up to the 3rd floor it should be more quiet.

If you want to rent a house, anything around Daniel's Parkway is good. Parts of Cape Coral are very quiet also.

its quite comical. I just moved from Miami a year ago, night and day. I didn't realize how bad we had it there until I Got out. Its like you have blinders on while living there and make excuses for the gorgeous beaches, weather, restaurants, shops, etc. Sure I miss that stuff but the stress alone you can't put a price on. I'll deal with the hotter days here in SW FL and beaches that close due to red tide in exchange for the worst drivers in the South East, lower cost of living, and turn signals!
