Okay. This may be a shot in the dark BUT, we are flying in and out of Fort Meyers in 2 weeks. My mother was there a few months ago, and told me today that I have GOT to go to "that pink and green bar" on Fort Meyer's Beach. Anybody know which one she may be talking about?

Hmmm....hard to say. I got the impression from her though that it was JUST a bar, not a bar IN a resort if ya get my drift.
Oh well....so many bars so little time....

Talking Ft. Myers Beach area

MrCoolMrCool...you are giving me a good laugh today! I'm am enjoying reading other people's advice to you and your responses on the snakes, alligators and bears. Me, my husband and kids have been visiting the Ft. Myers area, among others, since the 80's. That is when my in-laws moved there to stay. Whenever we are there, we always visit the Ft. Myers Beach area but for the life of me, I can't picture the "pink and green" bar. The one we frequent if the first one to the left of that little pier that goes out over the water with the little tiny souvenier shack on it. We sit outside right over the beach and there is usually a singer singing Jimmy Buffet songs, among others. I could stay all day.
As many times as I have been to Ft. Myers area & also have visited St. Petersburg, Sanibel-Captiva, and Key West, I have never once seen a snake or an alligator--even while driving through alligator-alley!

I'm glad I made you laugh!!
We stayed at the Ramada in Ft. Meyer's Beach that's just over the bridge when you come in. There was a cool bar down on the beach just across the parking lot from the hotel. We also walked down the beach and found some more places to hang out. Also there was a bar on the main drag there we liked, I can't remember the name of it but you could sit upstairs and look out over the street. That's where we first had a guy tell us to make your money BEFORE you move to Florida. This was probably 8 or 9 years ago now.

It WAS kinda ratty, even then. It definitely needed refurbishing. This was back in the day you just picked a hotel without being able to look at it online like you can now. We're staying in Port Charlotte this time, at the Banana Bay Resort. 9 days and counting!!!
