I never even heard of San Carlos Estates before. Thanks Nancy.
I must have registered with that real estate company at one time.

Edit: I just checked and there's a photo of an agent in Port St Lucie I spoke to last year. I guess once you register online, the cookie works for all the different MLS areas. Sorry, didn't even think of that when I posted the link. It's a home behind a lot of tall trees listed for $178K, but it's a short sale.

Not everyone will agree, I'm sure, but to me there seems to be a different vibe to the "rural" feel in these parts.

South east, towards Immokalee, and Felda is a more agricultural feel. Crops in field, migrant worker vibe.

Strait east, out SR 80 (Palm Beach Blvd) out past Olga, and Buckingham area a mix of agri and livestock, very common to see cowboy boots, and hats in pickup trucks.

North east, toward Alva, and north, up SR 31 to Arcadia, more horse ranch, livestock, basic honest farmer sort of area.

This is just my opinion, others might have some more insight. You might need to explore a bit to see what "feels" right to you.

Yachtcare has spoken.......

Excellent information!! And this is pretty much right on the money. I have many friends who live in those areas you described. Arcadia has that 'small town' feel for sure.
