Now have small pile of sleety snow accumulating in the north corner of my patio (which faces north)
Some lightening with this most current blow--
nasty
going to be VERY dangerous for anyone on the roads this AM--getting out of the neighborhood will be bad since most city trucks don't come into regular surface street

My poor Schnauzer who woke up wanting to go outside--like usual--couldn't face the sleet ...going to be long day...

Be careful and just keep your fingers crossed we don't lose power...

Our Boston Terrier ("Terrorist") jumped onto our bed trembling in fear about 4am. Didn't have the heart to banish him. Finally got back to sleep about 6am when I broke down and got a towel to wrap him in and he finally stopped trembling. None of our dogs will leave the house to potty; I may have to break down and do a short walk. Brrrrrr......

My dog does not mind the cold too much--but hates wet weather and when she walked in the grass with the snow/ice on it the grass strands stick her feet--since they are frozen--sort of like walking on bed of nails I guess

she has not had any accidents--been outside once under pressure/command and than again a couple of times when it was just cold--but she is not like some of those dogs that love the snow

and she will probably be sleeping under a towel tonight as well
