TCU is changing the hue of purple and taking out the Horned Frog.

Actually, it's not new.... and the frog really isn't going anywhere. They've just decided to go with the arching 'TCU' the school has used since the 90's The frog isn't going anywhere, just you won't see the two together as much.

One thing is for sure, I'm just glad THIS will only be used in t-shirts and gear and not on the actual uniforms or school identity.

Actually, the TCU football team, for a while this year, didn't have the frog on its helmet. They started to lose games, so it was reinstated and now the frog is back on the helmet. It's really not a big deal. It's not like the mascot is gone...

I love how you post in every TCU thread and bash it.

TCU has actually changed the logo/color many times. This is not anything new. And if it's due to the Big 12, TV, Nike, whatever, I'm good with it! Anything to get TCU publicity (as long as it's not drug busts!) is fine with me. I'm just glad we're on the media's radar.

When I was a student there...a LOOOOONG time ago...we actually had jerseys that were almost lavender. They were AWFUL!!! It was when Coach Pittman was coach (the one who died of the heart attack on the sideline). That color was horrible and everybody called it Pittman Purple. They kind of looked like this.

Well, I don't know about other sections of the forum, but it appears to be a reoccurring trend in the Fort Worth section. If I'm wrong and mistaken him for another individual, I sincerely apologize. But I'm almost positive it's him.

I like the new purple... looks less "in your face", more subdued, more serious maybe?
