I currently live in Keller but work in downtown Fort Worth, so the commute is not great. I'll be relocating in summer so I am closer to work. I am a single person with a dog who needs lots of exercise (we go for loooong walks). I'd really like to rent a nice townhouse or condo that has some outdoor space and is in an area that is super safe, nice with lots of trees and space for long walks with my pup. My budget is flexible. Does anyone have ideas? Thanks a lot!

Define "Flexible"

There are some condos that go up in the thousands (upwards of $3000 if you wanted to go luxurious) per month near downtown.

But a dog friendly place would either have to be 76102 (that is literally downtown itself),76107 (due to its proximity to Trinity Park), and/or 76104 (just in general and probably the most pedestrian, and bike friendly part of fort worth, dozens of people walking pets daily). but both of those areas are no less than $1200 in rent monthly.

Now you can also look into these zip codes, however they get tricky because they have very nice parts, but unfortunately low income parts as well. 76109 (look for anything anything North of berry and/or bellaire) and 76110 (far north 76110 is a very nice part, absolutely gorgeous neighborhoods with older homes).

Hi there, thanks SO much for this. I suppose "flexible" means up to $2,000/month. 76107 sounds really nice; do you know which neighborhoods/primary streets fall into that zip code? Likewise for 76109 and 76110?

I'm not 100% sure if they have condos, but in 76116 off of River Park Dr., there are several luxury apartments that have direct access (back up to) to the Trinity trails system. I used to live in that area and it was WONDERFUL to have access to those trails.

I know 76109 has I believe "Bellaire Ranch", which is another luxury apartment community that backs up and has access to the trails. It is off of Hulen and Bellaire...great part of town!

that budget gives you plenty of options. In 76109 anything North of "Bellaire Dr. S" (FYI: Bellaire is also "Berry" st) is great, its Mostly a TCU area. In 76110 its a little bit more complicated but anything north of North of "Berry St" and West of Hemphill is good, but the farther north you get the better and more expensive. Last but not least the 76107, gee whizz it truly depends if you want an apartment or home, but with your budget you could just rent a home any where in that zip code and be close to alot of good stuff. If I was you I would just look up realtor.com and check out the zip codes provided, for the most part anything above $1200 is A-OK. Good luck and Welcome to the city!

If you want more specifics or need help with the streets I mention, you can go to google maps and input the zip code (choose political view though, not satellite; easier to read) and you can see what I am talking about. Or goolge fort worth zip code map.
