It depends on your budget. IKEA (use their pick service - it is worth the 100$ fee), Dump, Weir, ... You have the box stores from Nebraska Furniture to Rooms to Go.
We found things at Sárabi in Austin and Leathersofa Company - smaller, local manufacturers.

and check out Craigs list --not upholstery pieces--and check really good for bedbud residue--
but we bought lot of hard good pieces from there for our FL vacation house

also consignment stores can have some good pieces

Weir's I really like and they have their "off lots" room as well--
there is also furniture store in north Dallas off Plano Parkway if it is still there--
bought our dining room furniture there and still love it 30 yrs later...

and yeah, I've gotten some very good pieces on craigslist but also gotten some crappy stuff. If you go this route make sure you ask for many pics and details!
