I am traveling from Seattle to Fort Worth the first week of June for my son's highschool graduation. I want to take him and my other younger son out to some fun places for the first weekend in June. I know they have been to a Six Flags before, but I would like to know what would be fun for teenagers within a couple hours drive. Also, what good hotels are in the area of the highschool, North Crowley or 76113 zipcode area; I don't want to stay at my ex-husband's house. Thanks!

Can't help you with hotels but here's some ideas that I had for fun things to do.

*Hurricane Harbor (6 Flags Water Park)
*Baseball game (Rangers, FW Cats, or Frisco Rough Riders)
*Tour of Texas Stadium (I've never done this but have heard that it's pretty cool and at the end of the tour you're able to get on the field, take pictures and throw footballs around.)
*NASCAR truck race or Indy race at TMS

I noticed your profile says you live in Everett, I graduated from Cascade High School in Everett, I just moved to Fort Worth recently from Wa. State. From what I was told June - August are pretty hot and humid so most stay indoors and if they do venture outside they head to the local waterspots. Now there is a place where you can innertube down the river and I hear its a must-do in Texas, innertubing down the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, its about a 4 hour drive south of D/FTW.

You could come to Granbury. We have a lake and a Historical downtown square that you can shop at or eat at one of the restaurants there. You could also see a play at the Opera House on the square. Maybe even take a ride on the Riverboat. We are about 30 SW of Fort Worth.

Thanks for the inner tubing info. You are right about the weather; I used to live for about 9 years in the Rio Grande Valley (close to the Mexico border). So you graduated from Cascade? My daughter that lives with me goes to Everett High. Do you ever miss Everett? I'd like to move to Texas, but not sure hubby wants to. His teenage son lives about 20 minutes from my boys.

Thanks for the info. I think the stadium tour would be great for the boys since they are big sports fans. I don't think they would turn down the opportunity to go to Six Flags again, especially in the hot months.

I wouldn't say I miss Everett, but I do miss all the scenery. The wife's family who do travel here alot do notice that I seem alot happier here in Texas its probably due to all the sunshine here and warmer fall/winter temps. Spent 30 years living in Washington State and every year it seemed I was getting more and more depressed, the cold and wet months that never seem to end. One thing I dont like about living here in Fort Worth is how long it takes to get to the ocean, 5-7 hours depending on what beach/town you want to goto.

That's good to hear. I'm in Renton and have been in WA my entire 32 years. I need some heat myself! The last few days here have been pretty decent looking, but cold.

You can also take a tour of the Rangers Baseball field. I've done that and it was pretty cool. I would suggest also when it comes closer to time to check guidelive.com This website list everything going on in the DFW area, plus a list of top 100 things to do around here.
