I don't need anythig fancy. Just your basic pool. Doesn't need to be more than 5/6 feet deep. We are going to buy a house and it doesn't have one. Any approx price??? How long does it take to put one in?

do you want spa as well--
how big--not just deep--
the more volumn, the more expense--
I would think a less fancy pool with decent pump and filter system would still be 30K
you have to have not just pool but plumbing for pool, wiring, permits, the area around the pool--are you getting a fence around it?--your city might require one...
cheaper is not better if everything starts to break within 18 months...the only thing worse than a pool with a significant problem is a house with one...

For the basic of the basic, I think you can get one for about 20K no heater and no spa, no special stone just agregate etc.

check out this company and they will give you a free bid like most other companies around. Browse though the different pools and submit your info. Now is a good time to build one if that is what you really want. One thing you want to remember is that it is very unlikely that you will get your investment back when it's time to sell.

Actually they can be built amazingly fast. Our friends used Claffey and they broke ground in April and were swimming in it early June. It is a big pool (4-10ft deep)sunning ledge, bench seats and spa, diving rock water fall etc... they also did a ton of hard scape. They paid just about 70k, it's beautiful and yes we are very jealous!

I've seen ads for "basic pools" max depth 5ft for around 10k. (Blue Haven I think) I am sure they are quiet small and have the lowest grade pumps and no heat etc....

After my research I think for a good quality "basic pool" and one of good size, no spa, no deep diving area, no addtional hard scape etc... you are looking at about 20k

In NC they put in the fiberglass performed pools...I'd say you could one of those for around 10-15k.
