Doesn't that feel great! We've been paying down our CC as wellAs we pay off the smaller ones, then what we would have paid on them we pay towards the big ones, it feels great to see balance 0
However, I would NOT take the advice to then close out paid off accounts. Its just my opinion, but CC might be your only source of emergency cash. When you need it the most, you can't get credit, so, keep your lines of credit open. Oh, another caveat----make sure to use the paid off cc at least once in awhile, or they will cancel you. I had a masterCard that was mine, in my name, since before I was married. Since the balance was always paid, it kept my credit score high. Then, we paid it off, and just forgot to use it. Then, they cancelled it for lack of use That hurts your credit, and your ability to get credit in the future

It would take two years in most cases of zero activity before they would close an account. By that point I would hope you had CASH to cover emergencies, not credit.
If you couldn't save a decent emergency fund in two years, then how did you pay off the CC's in the first place?
Today I stopped at the local Catholic Church thrift store -- they had a big box of loose Christmas cards with matching envelopes at the price of 20 for $1.00!! These were really nice cards -- all different with a few duplicates. They said that when people clean out their parents houses they often get donations of various unused cards and sell them at ridiculous prices. I also bought some very nice Hallmark birthday cards for 10 cents each. So I was very pleased with myself. I also found a brand new mens Pendleton wool shirt in perfect condition for $12. Those things sell for about $140 and they are wonderful -- so soft and so warm. People don't like wool anymore but I love it!
This is great. Cards can be expensive so it's good to find deals like this.
it wasnt really today but I got a Nest thermostat about 5 weeks ago... we only had a plain old one and I thought for a long while which one to go.
Even used, the Nest was prohibitive in my opinion in terms of price.. I was actually going towards a Honeywell programmable Wifi access but then... just as patience is a virtue, I was awarded... at 2 am on a random day on ebay I was able to capture a used Nest for 65 bucks!
Still with 4 years warranty, the previous owner was so careful that everything was neatly packaged together and even included his original purchase receipt!
Savings amount to a lot as of now! I'm seeing around -60-70% difference in natural gas usage from last year
Kinda frugal. I wanted to get myself the wireless over ear headphones by Beats by Dr Dre for myself for Xmas. Target had them on sale for 20% off!!! So I used my Target Red Card and paid only $152 for a $200 pair. Yea for me!
Beats by Dr Dre is just a lot of branding nothing else. You should've gone for a Seinheuser ... Much better and cheaper
