Anyone know of any creative ways to earn credit card rewards on those Big Ticket expenses where credit cards aren't accepted, like, say, rent?

One method I've heard is using Bluebird and Vanilla Rewards cards and sending a check with Bluebird to pay the rent.. any other ideas?

i setup a card acceptance program for my tenants. yeah it costs me a little more in the long run but even if htey are short money they can charge rent and i get my money so its worth it to me. also as a bonus i guess they can earn rewards although i could care less about them and rewards im looking out for myself but in turn i guess it works out for them

was just thinking for those of you who rent from a large apartment complex with a management company they probably dont offer credit/debit as an option so you gotta play games and figure out a way to buy checks/money orders with a credit card which is hard these days.

for those of you who rent from smaller independent landlords you should mention this to them. its conveninet in not having to wait for checks and go to deposit checks and also tenants can pay your rent on credit even if theyr short cash so more likely to get paid and get paid promptly so something to mention to your landlord
