I am a recent college grad and just got offered a teaching position in a preschool as a Pre- K teacher. They are offering great benefits that include 401K, insurance, paid sick and vacation time. I do not have any kids nor boyfriend. I plan on moving closer to my job in an apartment that cost 690 a month. My car note is 259 a month and once I move, I plan on getting other home necessities such as cable and also electricity
Impossible to tell without more details (do you have student loans, do you consider living comfortably burgers in the back yard or surf and turf at an expensive reasturant 5 nights a week) etc.
I can only say given the likely cost of living represented by your apartment:
Probably.
Remember to save 15% of your income towards retirement. The "hands off" way to save for retirement described in "The Millionaire Next Door" (a worthwhile read) is to "pay your retirement savings first" and budget your lifestyle with the rest.
This has worked well for me.
This site has cost of living comparason that will allow you to see how far $32k will go whete your current living (you know your current lifestyle and cost of living) and compare it to your potential destination.
This would be a good resource to utilize.
is the 32k what's left after paying the 401k and insurance premiums? if not i am going to say that depending on where you live it's probably doable, but not 'comfortable'. i live in a low col area on a similar wage and in order to make it work i need to live frugally
Are you a thrifty person who watch your spending and is good with household budget, and money management? If yes, then you can. Comfortable doesn't have to be luxurious. If you can curb your cravings, know how to cook, and fix basic things, will spend less than you're making, than you can live well with what you will make. Especially if you do stay in that "small country town in northern Florida".

Its good you are planning on getting electricity. Difficult to live without it.
Cable is not a necessity. Things like food, gas for your vehicle, insurance, those are necessities.
Budget. Figure out how much you will be bringing home. Then figure out what your expenses are.
Expenses need to be less than income.
