I have been running around like a wild woman for the last week, trimming trees, edging, planting mums, etc.......DD informed me last Friday that she wants to get married in the front yard on the 11th, instead of the courthouse, so I gotta get the yard whipped into shape.

Wow!! Congratulations on the wedding! It must be super stressful, but HONESTLY, it sounds like a FUN way to spend a couple of weeks. Are you going to have a tent? If the husband and I had stayed married, I wanted to get married (actually renew vows) in my mom's garden. Sigh. If you're not privacy conscious and you feel like bragging afterwards, I would LURVE to see pictures.

No tent, she wants to do this on a teensy budget, which the designer in me is going crazy over, lol.
We have a huge oak tree in the front, which she wants to get married under....since this is a working farm, she wants to hang mason jars with tealights in them with varying heights hung from the branches.
I see mums and pansies, something very, very simple.
If it turns out how I am seeing it in my mind, I will post pics.
She just vetoed bows on the goats, lol

Well, I've let my garden grow wild for the last few months, ever since it quit producing for me. I mowed about half of it today and will get the other half tomorrow and will spread the clippings more or less evenly over the garden and next week my farmer friend will come by with his tractor and plow everything under for the winter. It will lay fallow until next spring when I begin the process all over again. I'll start back with the fertilizer in late march and by the first half of April, most of my garden will be planted.

I finally finished planting the woodland natives! I am BEAT. Deciduous azalea, ruby spice clethra, serviceberry, pawpaw and the appalachian spring(?) dogwood! The dogwood still looks sad and dessicated after its trip, but I really hope it perks up!

We just returned from our 3 weeks in Canada and cruising from Quebec to Ft Lauderdale so today hubby dug up the sweet pots. I don't know if he got them all, but we now have about 20 huge ones siitting in the sink. Other than possibly a couple of winter squash we are about to call it quits. Now it is time to rake the leaves and rest until March.
