Canada thistle.

It grows roots 20 feet under ground, seeds can last in the soil for 20 years and a single plant can grow almost 400 feet of roots in a single short growing season.
Plus it's really, really difficult to kill. Liberal and repeated applications of RoundUp work but you pretty much have to drench everything with the stuff over and over.

I wage an ongoing battle with creeping charlie in my current house, I'm hoping Preen works for it because I plan on using that next. Luckily it's easy to pull up.

Goatheads and foxtails aren't an issue here in Michigan, otherwise they'd be on my list (I've lived in states where they are common and can be very dangerous to pets.)

Mostly I hate clover. My yard contains several varieties of clover. For years I fought the clover that invaded my garden. A few years ago I ripped out a section full of perennials, planted a lilac bush, and put down weed block and a few inches of mulch.

I hate the neighbors weeds the most.

Right out front instead of grooming the hill it is overgrown with all kinds of weeds that spread into my garden. The worst is poison ivy, every year. I'm always tempted to spread some seeds in there and see if anything good will grow with little attention.

Depending on the situation, they might be happy to have you give their lawn/garden a little attention. If you're on good terms with them I'd bring it up, maybe as part of an idea for a joint, matching landscape.

The rest of their yard is a fantastic showpiece. But for some reason the front hill is no mans land. Go figure. They have hedges at the top of the hill and then let the rest of it go to weed which they sometimes cut down. Just so odd...

I really, really, really, REALLY hate maple trees. Those freaking whir lie-dos have a 100% germination rate. If I had a dollar for every maple seedling I pulled out from my garden I could retire.

I've had 6-gallon pots that had 40 maple seedlings in them before. Every time I see a maple tree I want to get out the chain and cut it down.

Mulberry trees and honeysuckle are really invasive, annoying, and hard to get rid of too. Mulberries are like hydra, cut off a branch and 10 more grown in its place. I like the fruit but they can be hard to contain.

I always get a lot of spurge and purslane growing in my garden too. I don't mind these too much since I only grow edible plants, I don't grown anything for aesthetics, and they don't seem to negatively impact my plants much since they're low growing. I look at them as green mulch, and the purslane is edible so that's a plus. I mostly get annoyed by the spurge crowding out the purslane.

I really don't worry about weeds too much unless they start to negatively impact my fruit/vegetable/herb plants, which most of them generally don't. I'll pull them if they get big enough but my plants' canopies usually block out the sun and keep them in check for the most part.
