Hey all. I'm normally good at identifying plants and flowers but am having a hard time with this one. It is from my mother's garden. I initially thought it was amaryllis because the leaves are similar but the flower is not the same. If anyone knows, please let me know! Many thanks in advance.
Very nice! I presume you're going to use it as a house plant in Chicago?
Thank you. The one pictured is actually at my mom's house/garden and she lives in L.A. She sent me a small clivia plant last summer, which is currently indoors because of the local weather, but it has not flowered yet. Can't wait to bring it outdoors when the weather gets better.
When you bring it outdoors, please put it under a shady spot. I brought mine out to my covered balcony few weeks back and the leaves got burnt. I'm in zone 7, weather still not over 75 deg high, covered balcony yet the plant got burnt.

Put it in the shade when you do. These are jungle understory plants. They like long days, but not strong direct sun. That's why they are such easy house plants.
When the night time temps are reliably above 45, it can go out.
It might not flower this year, they have to be a minimum size.
