OP, about a quarter-way down that page, there's a photo of the nuts breaking out of the burrs. These things are not small, do you remember anything like them in your neighborhood?
If we're right that this is a horse chestnut, you DO NOT want it next to your house. It's a very attractive tree, but it's also a big one. Unless you have a large lot, you don't want it at all.

It's really tall with big leaves and does grow some type of fruit?
I'll be ripping out this thing first thing in the morning.
I just wanted to make sure it wasn't some perennial I planted and forgot about.
It seemed unusual for me since this plant came up right over my public.

I'm betting there are plenty of squirrels in your neighborhood. They do tend to redistribute things from over there to over here, and they like soft ground that is easy to dig. Like flower beds.
