I've used both Ortho and Bayer but the Ortho is more available (and on sale at times). I have some Ortho WeedBGon Crabgrass that I'm spraying now on whatever weeds survived the weed and feed last month, plus to knock back crabgrass or grassy weeds. It usually takes several applications to kill crabgrass (or whatever grassy weed I've got).
BTW I used Scott's Turfbuilder on my front lawn and Sta-Green weed and feed on the back yard as a test. I usually use the Scott's so I know what to expect. I'll let you know how the Sta-Green works.
As soon as the pre-emerge wears off (mid-June for me), I'll pull weeds by hand and reseed where needed, then apply some fertilizer (maybe Ironite to be ready for the 4th of July. Really my lawn won't be in great shape until mid-July.
Picked up a gallon size container with the powered wand of Ortho Weed B Gon. Works great so far, very economical for the size and easy to use.
Look forward to hearing what you think of Sta-Green.
Have you used Lesco?
I just this evening put down another application of pre-emerge to carry it through summer.
