Looking at it I would go a different route than just putting in a deck. It doesn't look like there is a great deal of space to build considering the placement of the garage.


If cost isn't a factor, I would suggest moving the door to the right side of the house and put a larger window in the front. Then you could possibly put a deck on the side with steps facing the driveway. Just a thought.


Of course this is all dependent on what is directly behind that front wall.

Just joining this "party" and need to go back in time to see what you've been doing to make renovations.

(Hello hunterseat ... yup it's me, the same from the Cat Forum :-)

Cadsuper55 ... if your budget doesn't allow for major changes, if there's room between the steps and the garage, under that AC unit, you could put in a full length planter to soften up the front and draw the eye away from the funnel-like railings. Maybe paint the railings in Go Away Green (research what Disney does to make things "disappear"). Maybe some plantings along the wooden fence to pull the eye there, too (if that's your fence).

I actually don't mind the roundness of the stairs ... breaks up all the straight lines and sharp angles.
