The crape Myrtle needs room to spread to 5-6’ wide and 10’ tall.
Yes! That's exactly the spot that I would choose. Always consider the mature size of a tree or shrub when planting.

Thanks. I’m sure there’s sun in that spot most of the day; but it’s the north corner of property. I’m checking today before deciding.

Thank you Sarah. I’m willing to wait a while for a big tree; but would like some color against our white brick.
I thought a big tree would take 20 years.

I'm in zone 7 and love my crape myrtles. Just wanted to say congrats that your holly bushes died. Hate those things.

Haha, I couldn’t believe I said yes when landscaper suggested, I really didn’t care for them. I have a yew to replace it and need another idea. Taking my time.

I'm in zone 6 and my crêpe myrtle died this year. Zone 7 should be fine.

BTW, although we got rid of 30 holly bushes and paid someone to grind all those stumps, they continue to pop up. Round Up won't do a thing but turn the leaves brown.

Wow, that’s interesting because my azaleas look ratty most of the time, but the Hollie’s are always deep green and beautiful. I like to decorate with the fresh branches over the holidays.
