Ive seen several species planted around here (one wild species), but cannot ID them for the life of me. Ive checked several sights, and found some that I thought were a match, but ended up being different. Can anyone ID these that I have taken pictures of? Thanks in advance!!!

There are 2 different species in this photo...

Is this the "rattlesnake master" Yucca?

Steve-o -- I never knew there were that many varieties... but ya figure, not many should be able to grow up here [chicago land]

but the flowering one is Yucca pallida... or at least looks like it from the photo.

I'll browse around for others... but for me, the best plant ID site is Dave's Garden, in their Plant and Tree ID forum. I'll take a peek over there too.

Rattlesnake Master, Eryngium yuccafolium is not a Yucca. It grows in the wild here, and its blooms have no resemblence to Yucca. It is more like a thistle. It reseeds too readily.
All of your pictures look like Yucca except the next to last one. Have you seen that one in bloom?

Yeah, I read that on the link that tcs1366 provided. It strongly resembles a Yucca, hence its name. Thats what confused me all along. Dang fake Yuccas! Shame on them!

By gosh I think I nailed it!!!

Does anyone agree that the Yucca in my first photo might indeed be Yucca filamentosa?
