Finches love my garden. The eat the seeds from the echinacea, black eyed susans, catnip, and sunflowers. It's so cool to see them clinging to the catnip stems -- there might be five or six of them at once in the catnip clump. My cats get a double bonus -- the catnip, natch ... and birdies feeding on the catnip seeds!
What kind of finches ? We have Goldfinch year around. They just become more colorful in breeding season.
We have Purple Finch only in winter.
Gold. I believe they were both females. I was hoping they would come back this evening.
