I can't decide whether to do Scotts turf builder myself or have one of the fertilizing companies come out and do it. I am looking for fertilizer with weed killer and if they use a liquid it would be better right? Any ways I appreciate your advise.

We always say.... why pay someone to do something you can do yourself?

DH always does the lawn 'stuff' and I have to admit, we usually have one of the best looking lawns in the neighborhood -- where many use 'a service'.

he does the 'pre-emergence' in the spring and then does a fertilizer other times in the year.

>>and if they use a liquid it would be better right?

I have no idea if liquid is better...

hopefully others will chime in.

I used pre-emergence about a month ago but honestly I have tons of weeds in my yard this spring. I am hoping some might die out with the summer and maybe the grass will thicken and push them out.
