I want to put two bird houses in my garden, and was wondering how high should I put them.

A long-time ago, I remember reading that they should be so many feet high, otherwise the birds do not visit. Suggestions? Thank you,

It may depend on what kind of birds you want to attract. If you are putting up Purple Martin houses they should be around 20 feet high and in a clear area. I have put up just little home-made birdhouses nailed to trees about 8 feet up and have gotten finches to nest in them.

Just make sure the house entrances face east. Birds get up with the sun!
