Thanks for the aphids tips!

I have some Murphy's soap handy and will give it a whirl.

My roses are going to be leaf-less soon, if I keep removing all the leaves full of aphids. Everyday I clean one plant, and still .. next morning .. new 'hatchlings' everywhere.

I just tried a mixture of liquid seaweed and molasses in a gallon of water. It is two tablespoons of each to one gallon of water. Spray on the leaves and flowers. Its suppose to be good for fertilizer as well as keeping pest away. Spary edarly in morning or late in evening.

I live in SC and was wondering if it will kill it if I trim it way back? We have been reaching 90 this year.
Do you know what climbing rose it is?
If not which one, what color?

Here in NJ, it's been a bad year with weather. We've had a lot of rain plus really cold days, then burning hot days. Doesn't seem to be an inbetween.

Did your rose bloom this year?

With climbers the tip is to not train the canes straight up.

Ashdown roses in SC made a bunch of rose videos - here is their youtube page YouTube - AshdownRoses's Channel (http://tinyurl.com/AshdownRosesVideos - broken link) - look for Training A Rose On A Trellis as well as Pruning & Controlling a Climbing Rose

btw, they are having a sale if anyone is interested.
