We just were recently relocated out to the Midwest and bought new construction. We were so tired of dirt and decided to do sod in lieu of seed.

Well it looked great for awhile but now we have had a heat spell for at least 10 days and now we have brown spots all over. My DH is going crazy that we are going to loose all our sod.

We do have a service that does fertilization etc-they came out today and sprayed for fungus. They said it will take up 2 weeks for our grass to come back.

Ours is green and lush, thanks to alot of rain, 90°+ heat and humidity.

A month ago my lawn looked wonderful but then we started getting lots of rain. Brown patch was spreading like crazy so I too called and got it sprayed with fungicide. Now it seems to be under control - if I can only keep it living. My lawn is not established that well and needs lots of water during the dry spells. I'm not really looking forward to those large water bills as well but that's the price you pay to have a green lawn here in the south.

I love it! I now live in an apartment and do not have to care for the lawn. They aerate it, fertilize it, mow it and water it. It is green and lush and I don't have to do a thing!

We decided against SOD due to the cost difference.
We just bought lots and lots of seed and went at it! I try to water the grass everyday which i KNOW will kill me on my water bill.....1st of which should come in a month or so....

I live in a really beautifully landscaped apartment complex. After all our rains....the St. Augustine grass looks incredible. Like a great big green carpet!

Nice lawn Bermuda!! Mine is doing well considering what the contractors put down a year ago...Lots of lime and broad leaf killer are doing the trick. May re-do some in the fall!!

I am glad to hear others have lawns that are looking great.

We have not had any rain here in at least 10 days. Not looking forward to the next water bill!

Mine's hanging in there considering there has been only 1/4 inch of rain (yesterday) in the last 6 weeks. I've been watering the lawn in short bursts every 3 days and alternating between front and back gardens daily. Have a few brownish/mixed spots but still looking pretty good. Lost some of my garden plants (new hydrangeas, gardenias, few others). The sun has been intense ws/ 104 degree temps. Only good part is fewer mosquitoes.
