Thanks for the heads up, Slim!
What I've found so far completely tracks my own knowledge of my family, going back to about 1900, Other stuff I am taking with a grain of salt. For example, I'm supposedly related to some Earl in Scotland, abt. 1650. Wasn't that when people were getting their heads cut off
Anyways.....
I also realize if you can make a connection to Europe, take it with a grain of salt. Don't get too high on yourself because you are supposedly connected to royalty, after all, they were the only class of people who kept records. You don't expect the local pesantry had family crests, lineages, etc!
But I just thought it interesting, and quite ironic, that I found my grandmother's wedding announcement and engagement party, complete with a description of the delicious foods, right alongside an article about famine in WWI Germany (this was about 1914). It talked how people were lacing bread dough with straw and sand just to have something---how sad!
