They announced their new pricing today - this is FABULOUS!

I purchased three earlier this year at $299 ea.

But I've got several people I'd still like to test and looks like I will get it done over the course of the next year.

I am so excited and can't wait to see the new matches that are inevitable as the database continues to grow!

This was perfect! I was going to order it but was waiting for a holiday discount - didn't know they were going to chop that much off - and it stays at that price. I ordered it right when I got the news - primarily for the medical aspect since I already ordered the Geno 2.0. I have been online taking some of their surveys - interesting and at least fun.

Some may want to plan accordingly, is that just for the holidays?

That seems to suggest they are only lowering the price to reach one million kits sold and then it will return to normal price - which means it could go back up at some point. Apparently they have more than 180,000 customers at the moment though so theoretically, it should take them a while to get to 1 million. I don't think I can ask for anything more for Christmas so maybe if this lasts till my birthday, I can ask for it then!

The day I ordered FTDNA's Family Finder and mtFullSequence tests, I found out about the 23andMe price drop...so I ordered that too. DNA testing is addictive, but it can get expensive!
