Because Asian/White mixed offsping appear and pass as White people. With the exception of the eyes, Asian/white mixed people look and identify as White, unanimously.

In contrast, Black/White mixed offspring have dominant Black features.

In genetics, the Black gene dominates both White and Asian genes and the White genes dominate the Asian genes.

I call someone mixed, so I guess that's my answer.

It was enforced by state laws and courts in the US as late as the 1980s.

I don't know how old you are WiseWino, but you sound like a Boomer. I understand because I'm a Boomer, too.

I would submit that while what you have said has been true for Boomers and earlier, it will not still be true in 25 years when Millennials are running society.

Right now, we are in an immense racial transition. This is not by any means a post-racial society because the last generation programmed to be racists are still in control of society. Those of that generation who are not racists are fighting our social upbringing--and we are statistical outliers, not the peak of the bell curve of our generation. Most of our generation, in their heart of hearts, go along with the programming.

Do you mean ethnicity? Their race is human. If they were born in the USA they are American.

I didn't vote because you didn't have people as one of the choices. All are simply people to me.

Unless these poll numbers change...The poll results of this thread are interesting, to say the least. At this point, assuming the majority (90%-95%) of the respondents to the poll are White...0% of those Whites identified or accepted a black-white/bi-racial person as "White"!

In contrast, assuming 10% of the respondents are Black, 100% of the Black voters identified or accepted a Black-White/ bi-racial person as either Black or Bi-racial.

In other words, the White people that voted in the poll rejected black-white/bi-racial persons from the white race! Whereas, the Black respondents accepted black-white/bi-racial persons into their race!

Although the poll is not scientific, the results seem to line up with the 1-drop rule and the long belief that Black people are more accepting of black-white/bi-racial persons into their families and communities than Whites.
