I am not satisfied with standard genealogical reports and wonder if any one here has found something more comprehensive. Let me explain a bit.

During years of research I have bought Legacy, Family Tree Maker and memberships for My Heritage, Geni, and I tried out Wikitree. I settled on Ancestry.ca as my online partner and Ancestral Quest which was recommended by LDS. Ancestral Quest does not offer the common Afhental (sic?) format. What's with that?

The idea I want is a 300 - 1500 individuals ascendant flow-chart in pedigree format that includes children and siblings. I want it to be continuous so it is easier to see where information is missing and where mistakes are and in a format from which a printer company will make a huge working sheet.

I'm not interested in Family Group sheets or Afhental (sic?) for my purpose.

I have four trees, one is 69,000 going back to 100 AD - a big mistake downloading one file from Rootsweb and then made worse by adding to it. I have attempted to split it but had trouble following the written instructions. The others are between 300-1500. I expect I will be creating more trees for different branches in Ukraine, Poland, Russia, a daunting task, even with hiring a researcher in that part of the world, something I have avoided until now.

Thanks in advance.

You can do what you want from Ancestral Quest.

Pardon me for being skeptical, but how have you managed to take any line back to 100 AD?

They do have an Ahnentafel Chart/Report. Ancestral Quest - Product Description - Reports (scroll down to near bottom), under book reports.

Sounds like you want the Ancestry Wall Chart with Siblings: http://www.ancestralquestonline.com/...rtWallWSib.pdf

United Kingdom.
I downloaded a file that my 2nd cousin uploaded to Rootsweb.
But I did not know how large it was.
I have not yet been successful splitting it.

How did your second cousin document data that far back? Not even the British royals can do that. Frankly, it makes the whole file suspect, and you are likely wasting your time with it. At the very least, you should try to corroborate anything in the file with other sources.

You can get several programs online for free.

I have used and like "Legacy".

You can import that gedcom file to Legacy.

Once you have imported it, then you can split it however you want.

Generations family tree has this kind of cascading pedigree chart. IMHO their charting is the best. Unfortunately at this time you can only get it for Mac, but you might be able to pick up some *very* old versions for PC.
