I don't have a huge interest in ancient results either, had been fine with what ever GEDmatch has told me but it was interesting to actually see that my families have been in that area not only hundreds of years like I thought but longer then that.

I'm not sure if we can upload more then one DNA sample. I'd like to upload my uncles to see if any Asian shows up

I think you have to upgrade (pay) for additional kits. I guess you could always use a different email address instead though.

How the heck can they go back 5000 years? Did they find treasure troves of ancient DNA around the world? I think not.

I'd take their findings with a big grain of salt, and IMHO, free is too much to pay for such drivel.

Even Ancestry has had difficulty with reference populations, although they've radically improved in the past year. I found this to be the case when their results finally became congruent with my own developed from reliable genealogy resources - i.e. not just family lore, but other records.

That's most likely what I need to do is use different email addys to upload more.

It would be nice if it cost $5-$10 to upload another sample but it's not.

I'm not sure how they do it but people that were posting on their sponsored ad post that I saw; everyone said their results were accurate to what they had seen in their family tree.

Yes, I'm sure they were able to carry their tree back thousands of years! Not to mention truth in advertising?

I use their services and bought my way up to a Caesar account on the site. The DNA samples come from skeletons that had been found at archaeological digs.

You can get a lot of information from GedMatch but it's difficult to understand and Mytrueancestry is always improving and adding features. This is done weekly and new samples are added.

Eventhough one side of my family is very West European and one side is very Eastern, so far I'm finding out that I have a lot of German ancient ancestry and very little Slavic.

"I tried their test and didn't really see any value. Now I continually get advertising emails with no way to stop them. I deleted the test but no option is provided to unsubscribe from the emails. If you try this company's dna report you will be receiving spam emails from them forever"

"Downloaded my raw dna got error message saying I needed to upgrade. I tried but kept getting error message. And No way to contact company except a email address. Shady, shady, shady."
