Hi,

I've seen other threads on city-data where people have discussed the most accepting (i.e. least racist) U.S. cities and states, but I want to take it one step farther: does anyone know of any accepting cities that are also affordable? This is tricky because most liberal cities also are known for taxing the heck out of their citizens. I am in an interratial relationship and don't have much tolerance for intolerance. I don't feel that that makes me an intolerant person, just choosey.

Anyway, I know places like Austin, Texas exist, for example, but that's a little far from family (they live on the East coast and in the eastern Midwest). Anyone know of any other places I can set up shop and not be taxed to smithereens? I'm a writer/editor by trade, if that matters.

Thanks!
