Weighing out the options of renting a truck and towing his vehicle

Shipping his vehicle on a transport, selling his used college kid furniture and shipping his clothes/assorted gear then flying him down.
Any ideas?

Take a look at Uship dot com. I am self employed with a profile on there, part time now though.
Click on find a shipment. Put a check mark beside automobile, furniture, etc. Then enter the departing city and use a range of maybe 150 miles and do the same for the destination. You'll be able to see similar shipments as yours and if you decide to list the car or the furniture, you can list yours and accept bids based on cost and feedback.
Truck rentals may not work for you because you have to pay for the miles, or in the case of Penske free miles but they adjust and charge you for alot of days.
