My story is a bit crazy but here it goes. My husband moved to the northwest for me from east coast when we got married. He was able to get this job transferred and work from Seattle. I was able to keep my job and be close to my family. His family is all overseas. After he moved here and we got married, things haven't been that great. We have had issues with my family, friends around, and just feel bored here. But we both have good jobs, a house here, and know folks around. Now, my husband wants to move to Dallas for his job and I kinda wanna move but am kinda scared too. I love the idea of moving to a warmer and sunnier place. Also, I think we need to meet some new folks and make new friends. Here, everyone is connected to each other and know my parents...which makes it hard for us to make any new friends. My job is also ok here...infact, I am thinking of taking few years off to start a family and then maybe going to grad school and maybe trying something different. I want to move but I am also scared of all the change. I don't deal with change very well but sometimes I think it is much needed. I am sad about leaving my family here and going to a new place and starting all over again. I keep changing my mind and feel confused all the time. My husband and I argue about this all the time and it really makes me sad that I can't decide between the two. Has anyone been in this situation before? How did it work out for you guys? Any advice for me? Thanks!

Why not? Now is the time to do it, honestly; you don't have any kids holding you back. Its an adventure starting over in a new place, and a great experience everyone should try at least once. You'll learn a lot about each other in the extremely stressful process I cannot comment on whether Dallas is a good idea or not, but make sure wherever you end up, there is a job waiting.

Similar situation - DH was from the Midwest and moved to NY to be with me. many yrs later - he wanted out, mostly due to the high COL. We fought about it constantly! Like you, I was (am) also scared of change and I am sorry to tell you that we did in fact move, south, and it's been a nightmare for me since day 1 - I miss my family and friends dreadfully!! We're planning our next move now so I can be a little closer to them. (there are other reasons I don't like it here - ridiculously hot & humid summer that never end being another).

My best advice to you is to go visit some places you think you may want to move to and research it until your fingers are sore!! Everything from economy to climate, to tax burdens, crime rates, etc.

Good luck. I know what you're dealing with and it's very stressful!
