I currently live in an option area for two high schools in the same school district and we are moving to just one high school's boundaries (the HS she does not currently attend) The house is 5 miles from her current HS, but on the way back it's almost 6 miles due to the way the street that the new house is on is, so there's no way we can get out daughter to and from her current HS, even though the district would allow her to stay at her current HS.

The problem is that we probably won't move until mid to late April and we don't want her to move so late in the year, especially in the middle of the last quarter. We want her to transfer the week after Spring Break because that's the start of fourth quarter. Personally, I want her to transfer sooner than that, but I know that's not going to happen. The district doesn't require tax bills and requires the closing document instead, which is good because she can transfer sooner. Since we technically already live in the boundaries for her new HS, is there a way I can work something out with the district so she can attend the other HS in time for the start of fourth quarter? Maybe even shadow there?

Have you asked someone in the district who would actually know the answer to this question? From what you are saying it seems like anyone can go anywhere, anytime, assuming there is room but NOBODY is going to know except your district.

Kids transfer between our two high schools fairly regularly so that's what I'm basing my answer on. Obviously I have NO IDEA where you are or what your district does.
