I'm planning on packing up my home and then driving myself to my new town to meet the movers at a storage facility. I'm wondering what happens in the event that I get delayed (say, due to an accident) or - heaven forbid - injured, etc? Will the movers simply store my items and charge for the waiting/storage time?
I arranged with the storage company to have an extra key to let the movers into the storage unit - so they could start unloading in case I got tied up in traffic. This was a small storage facility and they were happy to be of assistance. It turned out not to be necessary, but, nice to be able to plan ahead just in case I did run into a problem.
